Serious Victoriana, Massive Cosplay Steampunk Cred. This is what the Parasol Protectorate carries in the rain (attagirl, Gail Carriger). The handle is magnificently textured and aged bakelite (or celluloid) and still sports a bit shiny bit of gilt - set off gracefully with the ORIGINAL TASSEL. Tassle? Tussle? Do the hussle…I have no idea. Cool hangy thingy is still there..

The pokey part has a little bit of worn finish - perhaps from battle?! Repairable, yet maybe not. The same goes for the umbrella shade itself. Makes you want to strap on a corset and stroll around town looking for trouble. Ask nicely and maybe I’ll throw in a button hook. Seriously.

Sadly, the original factory inspection paper labels fell off, but I still have them and it’s definitely a Polan Katz. Some moth holes, a little bit of purple fading around ribs but tres negligible, adds character to an already rich with personality item. Could be ribbon covered. Might be an excellent parasol. All I can say for sure is that it is fabulous. And the most glorious of purples.
